I just bought a 1998 blazer from a neighbor, he said it had problems but I didn’t see any on the test drive. It ran and drove great until it got dark and all the sudden the dash lights would flash and then turn off and the car would sputter and die and when I tried to start it again it wouldn’t even engage the starter. I’d hit it in various places around the steering column and it would start up and drive like normal again. After that when I turned on my high beams it did it again, the dash lights flashed and turned off and then the car sputtered and died. I thought it was the ignition switch problem but I replaced it and it still has issues. The headlights are on no matter what position the light switch is too. What else could it be? Could it be a PCM?
