Default Yet another LED question

Yeah yet another led question...Im trying to figure out changing the bulbs in my 4x4 control and also my rear wiper switch... Can any one let me know are the 3 small lights on the 4x4 switch 3mm compenent led`s? Then trying to figure out the bigger bulb I believe it is a 4mm..unsure if I can just use a component led from looking at its base..Im pretty sure the bulb inside the rear wiper switch casing is a 4mm or possibly a 5mm component replacement also. Anyone switched theres over on a 98+ ? Im sure Thogert has the answers again on my questions.. Really appreciate the help yet again..

Also curious if I can just solder bulbs on the panel for the 4x4 switch with the back of the casing attached or should I try to seperate them first?

Thanks!

The bigger bulb should be a neo-wedge like the rear wiper switch, and the smaller ones can be replaced with pretty much any 3mm or 5mm through hole led (unless they poke through a small hole in the buttons, in which case, measure them to see what will fit best.) I wouldn't solder anything like those on with the plastic still attached if you can remove it without breaking it. Of course, you will want to find which contact is positive and which is negative before you solder a new led on there.

Cool thanks Thogert...The bigger bulb inthe rear wiper piece has the wires bent and soldered above the plastic panel...On the 4x4 switch it looks like the base is not attatched other than from wires going through the board.... So they are neo wedges or just soldered on component led`s.....I have been trying to seperate the board from the plastic on the 4x4 piece..But with the prongs that connect to the wire plugs connected also to the underside of theboard it doesnt want to seperate..Every time I try it seems as the board may break...Again thanks so much with the help...
