Don't know about the 1st Gen's, but the 2nd's have their top speed controlled by the PCM and can be re-programmed.

I knew this was gonna happen every one was gonna say it was a bad idea lol, your right it was a bad idea lol the blazer could have flipped really easily, but it didn't and ill never do it again. I was just wondering whats the firsts gens top speed it, and if it shuts the motor off at a certain speed

Lol, won't shut the motor off, just limit the RPM's so it won't push the mph's any higher.

Trust me, shutting the motor off on the highway is freaky... especially at night with no street lights around.

Not sure about the 1st gens being faster, but i did notice that if you looking to race at all or be going fast the stock 3.42's kill me in my opinion. My jeep with the I6 had 4.10's and would just nose out my buddies 4.0 V6 Explorer. My 99 Blazer cant even keep up, the motor has a lot of power just the gear ratio is so low it really pushes to try to get it moveing but in the higher mph's its insane it flies. Im sure if I put 4.10's in my Truck it would smash my old Jeep and my buddies Explorer.

Sorry, if what I said sounded like I was getting at you. I was not, I was just saying I would not drive anything with a high centre of gravity at that speed, but I would never stop or judge anyone else who wants to. I use to race at have driven at over 140 on a public road, so I'm the last person to say if your driving to fast....lol
