Could be most anything 
Does the starter crank the engine at normal speed? Have you checked fuel pressure and leakdown? Have you checked for a blue, (not orange) spark at each plug while cranking the starter? Does the service engine soon light work? Has it been on while driving? Have you checked for trouble codes?
