but stevo, in your OP you said, "i have 107k miles on my blazer, and my goal is to drive it until i get over 2048402 miles on it", and since your Blazer is RIP now, i guess you're gonna have to work harder on keeping that Sonoma on the road.

and FYI Chevy's aren't the only one to go on & on. my Dad's '72 Ranger had a little over half a million miles on it when he sold it in '88 (it was the old shop service truck @ his work). and his old L8000 was just a few thousand lms from 1 million when it was retired (sold) after 10 years. but that truck was Cat powered.

still, it's pretty amazing that old '78 is alive & kicking! wonder if it's a record for Guiness?

I've got a while still before I hit 2,048,402. If I average the kind of mileage he has I should hit that around 2040 lol. So far I've put around 500 miles on it, Im WELL on my way lol.

well i wish you luck stevo on your goal but its gonna be very hard to only replace a tranny and 2 short blocks and get tht mileage haha.

the thing is that truck was a 1977. the build quality between that truck and any newer chevy is EXTREMELY different. plus in 77 that was probably a basic truck with very little options. the new stuff has way too many electronics and other "technology" to go wrong. those trucks were just so basic and simple so its no wonder they last so long and you see so many on the road still today.
