Default 3800 Series II Supercharged Water Pump

Has anyone had to change a water pump on a supercharged 3800 engine? My Buick overheated last night and after replacing the 90* coolant elbow that broke and the thermostat and refilling the radiator it still overheats. There's no water in the oil so I haven't blown a gasket. Replacing the elbow was enough of a pita and its raining today so I'm just trying to get an idea of how annoyed/pissed off I'll get doing this in the rain.

Vehicle is a 98 Buick Park Ave Ultra supercharged

The 3800 are prone to have air bubbles in the lines. Make sure all the air is out!!
Ive owned three 3800 GTPs

If water is not coming out of the weep holes its fine!

Check the thermostat!

I wouldnt rule out a blown head gasket just yet. Disable the ignition and crank the car over 10~ 12 times. Then pull the plugs and see if any are wet. Might also do a compression check. Its possible for the head gasket to have blown between the cylinder(s) & the cooling jackets. Ask me how I know.
