You can't beat those things. They're very accurate and cheap LOL not to mention the 7.62x54R is a beast! I'm an FFL dealer and I bought 7 of em to wait and sell as soon as these new imports dry up. Because the price will go up with it lol.

I see some fun times ahead with that thing!! And man you just brought back so many memories when you said Fleet Farm. I used to love going there with my Gma when I was little. The wierd thing that I remember most is that they all smell the same and there is no other smell like it that I have ever came across. Ok I'm starting to feel wierd typing this so I'm gonna stop lol!! Have fun and be safe.

The wood seems to be in great shape especially since the stamping on the barrel says it was made in 1937.

Congrats. Looks nice, enjoy it!!!

I've been wanting one of those for a while now, with the correct optics just to see how dang good those Russkie snipers were. Always get distracted by something else when I go to pick one up (same reason I don't have a Ruger MkII)
Probably pick up a Savage or another AR next time I decide to it's finally time to get a Mosin Nagant. Or finally get me that Enfield ... Or a K31. Unless there's a post hunting season/Christmas sale on 700's or No.1. Still need a Colt SAA though.

went to the range today and I am impressed with this thing!!

First 5 rounds were shot standing and with no bayonet and had about a 2 foot spread at 100 yds. After that I sat on the bench and rested the barrel on a box, still no bayonet and at 100yds had about a 6inch spread.

So I had read online that they were originally sighted in with the bayonet on. So I put on the bayonet( which was a B$%ch, had to use a pliers) so after I installed the bayonet I loaded er back up with ammo and tried again.

This time with the bayonet attached at 100yds had about a 5inch spread, not bad for a 75 year old gun with no sight adjustments.

On another note after this I was tired of walking back and forth every 5 shots so I just shot about 15 rounds down range than took a walk. All 15 were within 12inches of each other.

last note, I read that It kicked real bad. And the answer to that is yes and no. Now I have shot my buddies 30 30, 30 ot6 12gauge with slugs ect... And the first pull of the trigger I was nervous about kick. But after I wasn't lol. It kicks about like a 12 gauge, but not as bad as 12gauge slugs.

So would I recommend one? hell yes. But if you've never shot a rifle/shotgun before be ready for a sore shoulder.

I love this gun lol

That is one of the better looking Nagants I've seen. Congrats!

You should have MUCH better accuracy than that. Have someone else shoot it that you know to be a good shot. If they are getting the same results there is something wrong with the rifle. If they are getting 1"-1 1/2" groups, well, it's the shooter.

These rifles are know for their accuracy and 5" groups at 100 yards is not accurate at all. Not to say you cannot shoot, that is not my intention. Thus why I recommend someone you know that shoots well to give her a try.
