Yeah, but here lately all the gunshows nearby, (ie 2 of them), havent had ANY milsurp ammo really at all. Outside of the 7.62x25 and 5.5x65 and the odd ball calibers. The last one only one guy had 7.62x39 and it was all HP. But there is another one this coming weekend of the 18th, and I'll be there like always .

Debating on selling/trading the .40 to get something else. I keep the .40 in the truck and hardly ever shoot it. The 9mm took over as the home defence/headboard gun. Thinking of a .38/357 snub nose. I agree on the 5 shot thing. Even if it's a large group, make the shots count and you'll run off the others. Ditto on the buy for $369 also!

Great thread, and some great guns guys.

I love guns but I have limited knowladge and with limited funds I stick with the ones I can get a good deal on. Besides with my brother-in-laws 100+ gun collection of some real bad *** stuff, there is no point in trying to compete. My guns may not be real flashy, but they are all in great shape and they will get the job done if needed.

pistols- (no revolvers yet)
Ruger (Standard model) 22 auto (I love this one, it was my grandfathers)
Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm compact (my daily carry)
Beretta 40 S&W compact (my wifes daily carry)
(I may be getting a Bersa 380 for my back up carry soon)

Rifles-
Winchester model 34 30-30 (my fav gun and I got a great deal on it)
Remington Woodsmaster model 742 308
Savage model III 30-06 (my hunting rifle)
Savage model 110 243 (wifes hunting rifle)
Lakefield 22 (wifes gun, don't know much about this one)
Marlin model 915Y 22 single shot (my sons first gun)
Mossberg 12 ga.

next I'm looking for a good deal on another 12 ga. and a good second gun for my son (thinking 223cal)

I always thought the exposed barrel guns like that Ruger looked funny. But I've started to warm up to them since I found out that the barrel cools quicker and helps with accuracy. That .357 is sexy too.

Stopped by a local pawn shop and was amazed at the insane prices on their guns. A VERY used mosin nagant M44, $199.99. Just the rifle no accessories. Chinese SKS with a ATI Druganov stock, $439.99. Insane I'm tellin ya. For some reason, people demand high prices on guns around here. Just finished the 3rd coat of clear on the wasr-10/63 furniture. Pics when dry and mounted.

UPDATED 2-13. pics as promised

i actually just sold mine for $380 with the scope

and i would never get another one nor recomend one

if i need a hammer to take apart a gun in the first place, i dont want it.

mine also jammed every few shots no matter what ammo i used. some people love them but i dont lol

im taking the money i got from selling it and buying a remington 770 in .308

x2 on Mark II's being notorious for jamming. they are easy as hell to clear (either force slide forward, or clear a stove pipe)

they are fun, dont get me wrong, and very cool looking, but both i have used (dunno if they are II's or III's honestly) have been very problematic.

Picked up a new in box unfired keltec p-11 at the pawn shop for $250. Traded in the 40 towards it so only gave $100 cash for it. DAO trigger and small gun for 10+1 capacity. I love it. Trigger pull is long but once you shoot it you get used to pulling back slack during recoil and being ready to pull when point of aim is back on target.

Running low on ammo, nothing new there, lol. Looking at CTD, they have 640 rounds of UCW in spam cans for $127 before shipping, best non corrosive deal I can find.
