Default gas saver with *****?!

well for a while ive been planning on selling my blaze and getting a zr2.. but now i realize that i need something with better gas mileage. i was wondering if any of you have any suggestions.. i want something sporty, not like a cavalier or prius, and not an asian automaker ( spare me the lectures on reliability please lol).. so im mainly wondering about audis, bmws, volvos, stuff like thaT. price range is about $6000.. im considering a volvo s60 turbo, maybe awd.. anyone have any other suggestions, or experience with this car? thanks

I wish the Cobalt SS was for about $6000.

Volvo could work. Civic Si, too?
Wait, nothing Asian... Well, you could look at the Focus SVT.

your best bet is something asian. get a 240sx they are cheap, easy to fix/work on, and you can make them stupid fast. i have alot of friends with them

Sorry I know you don't want to hear it but forget reliability, they make/made some pretty ballsy compacts.

Me and a few of my friends have Grand Prix GTPs. Besides blowing my motor from racing it has been incredibly reliable, they are pretty cheap, and not to expensive to mod. Decent gas mileage as well.

Grand Prix GTP? I like those.

OH! See if you can find a 3 series in that price range.

If you want something cool get a Volvo S60 R. This is my wifes car and it has 300 hp, High boost Turbo and still get decent gas mileage. They only made them from 04-07. Prices have really come down alot. They have 5 Speed Manual as well as automatic. Do a google search & check prices on ebay, cars.com.

any boosted car is fine if you stay out of boost,.. all the gas you saved out of boost will be gone as soon as you spool a few times.

what kind of gas mileage are you looking to get?

would you mind building someone or do you just want to buy?

perhaps you could get an S10 and do a 5.3L LS swap, or another LS engine. lighter truck, engine with some oomph and decent mileage. ( with my LS1 i get 17.5 City and 27 Highway)

**i've seen third gen camaros with LS swaps go for aroudn that much, maybe a little cheaper, and they usually aren't hack jobs
