i detailed one of these today, did not catch the year. but it was like an avalanche. the tail gate was a combination swing/drop gate. it would swing to the passenger side when the window was rolled up, and when it was in "truck mode" (window rolled down) it would drop like a normal drop gate. also the roof behind the back seat would lift and slide forward into the roof rails. it also looked to have some harder interior plastic that would be resistant to scratching. i am not sure but i also think it had a role up window behind the back seats presumably for when it was in truck mode?. i thought that this was a cool concept as i have never seen one like this before.

pic of drop gate roof is also open

pic of swing gate/roof closed.

the swing gate and drop gate had two seperate buttons which made sense. the swing gate button was on the driver side, and the drop gate in the middle.
any one ever check these out?

Yeah only a little over 12,000 were sold. Came out in 2004 and discontinued Production in early 2005.

Interesting concept...just never caught on

i was just baffled by how they did everything in it. while i was working on it i was throwing around the idea of mounting a roof rack on the plastic slider roof, mounting lights on that and then some how running the wire so that it wouldnt bind in the track for the roof but when you wanted lights you would just slide the roof open and your rack would be lined up. then again thats just what i think of for fun. it was a cool car tho. too bad the people that owned it didnt car about it near enough. it was a rolling pile o crap.
