hey i just got a cobra 25LTD with a built in SWR meter. Can i use that to tune my antenna instead of getting a tuner? and if so how?

 

the Cobra 29 NW is a great radio, Ideal starter radio. As for antenna's stay away from magnet mount, if you can, but if you can't then the K40 is probably your best bet. I personally run a Wilson 2000 Trucker, which I made a custom mount that goes completely across the roof rack to keep the antenna at the center of the vehicle for optimal signal, Please note, if you go with way for a antenna you need to run a ground wire from the antenna to a body ground to ensure a good antenna ground. As for a Radio, I run a Tram/Diamond D42 which is actually about 30 years old.

you can IF it has a calibration option, which i don't think the 25LTD has one.
