Default Home Theatre stuff

So we are building a killer home theatre for our new house. Curious what you guys think of it thus far. This is what we have so far. Was gonna do a projector till we got the TV for 1200 beans the other day since we bought a bedroom and living room set from the Brick store...

Samsung 65" LED 2D/3D Smart TV
Harman/Kardon AVR2650 7.1 receiver (95Wx7 @ 8ohm)
Soundstage 3D1 rear/side speakers
Soundstage ??? center speaker

Now we need to get the front speakers and subs. Thinking about getting a matching pair of the Soundstage tower speakers for the front, and for the bass

Harman/Kardon HK990 amplifier (300Wx2 @ 4Ohms)
2x15" subs in a box my daaddy will build for me.

Theres lots of 15" pairs on eBay for cheap enough. Is 15s a good choice, or should I do four 12s instead? 2 18s? I dunno. Its for a large living room and I want it to thunder.

What are you guys running for bass in home theatres?

I'm running 2 12" JLW6V2's off an EP2500 in sealed boxes. It wasn't built for all out bass, just a decent movie/music setup. Everything I built myself from plans online, such as htguide.com. It does get loud enough to knock pictures off the walls and rattle things though

4 12's ftw.

If you want something low cost, but effective, get 4 hfx12d4 subs. 30 bucks EACH. i ran 2 of em for over a year 200 rms over the rated without issues. for a home system they will be perfect for cheap. If you wanna spend some money 4 type alpine R's or 4 sundowns.

Check out http://www.klipsch.com/ if you are going to go big, might as well go klipsch... they are an amazing speaker company, well known, high end. the price is a bit high, but it looks like your budget is pretty high as well.
I can promise you would not be disappointed.

I know the type R and the Sundowns are gonna be more than I wish to spend. I am very happy with the Hifonics DVC subs I got my work truck, Im thinking 4 of those in 12" would do fine, and the price was right too.

So 15s or 18s wouldnt be wise for a home system? I dont think Ive ever heard subs bigger than 12s.

Rotary woofer FTW. Check this thing out. Way too high a price, but I'd love to have one.

Well Im actually going to just get 4 more of the subs that I got for my work truck. They were DVC 12" HiFonics subs. Ill hook em up four coils to each channel @ 4ohms. The amp Im using is a Harman/Kardon HK990 that will get signal from a Harman Kardon AVR2650 that runs the rest of the 7.1 system. The amp is rated 150x2 @ 8Ohms, so that should be about 300x2 @ 4Ohms... But its Harman Kardon power and Im sure it will have plenty of jam. I will make the subs in a bench style box below the TV four in a line. Box should be about 5' x 18" x 18".
