Yeah, When I was active duty and in a heavy mech unit (had bradleys for the infantry guys) they would do the oil analysis every few months on those brads. Granted to change the oil in them you have to pull the whole dang engine and tranny out but that's seriously about a 2 hour job if you have good mechanics on your line.

The valvoline maxlife is a syntech blend oil. I run 10 40 but next time I'm going to step down to a lighter weight I think.

I never have that problem. I just reach for the full synthetic gun and squirt it in!

However, when I decide to quit working for Valvoline, I may switch to Amsoil. It's expensive but it's some good stuff.

Yeah I've heard good things about amsoil. Maybe when the time for a new engine Ill use amsoil but I've always used valvoline and never had any problems with em.

I've been using Amsoil in my S10 for a while now, love that stuff.
