Jeep Wrangler vs Nissan Xterra

you know i have always seen a jeep as the LEGO vehicle of the car/truck world. my dad had one years ago and it seemed like you could just take and modify everything so drastically. i cant have a vehicle without space for subwoofers and security is important as well, so the jeep would probably be out for me. i think if i had to choose an suv i would either go with a ford explorer or a chevy tahoe. i would add the new durango to the list but it seems that its leaving the "offroad stage" and more street scene.

If you just want a urban vehicle the X Terra. If you want a serious 4x4 the Jeep is your vehicle. For one the Jeep has so many aftermarket products. They will go where most only dream of going.
I personally would ever buy another Nissan. I bought a new 90 truck 4x4. after 17,000 miles & having it in the dealership 6 times & having about half the truck tore apart. I told Nissan to shove it up their A$$.

I knew about the D44 and what the unlimited meant, but i swear she has some kind of locker in the rear of that thing. Maybe i just didnt pay close enough attention

As I said if you want serious off-road ability the Jeep without any further thought in my mind. I do some pretty serious 4x4.
I would buy a Honda Pilot or Toyota SUV before I bought a Nissan anything. Neither are any more expensive. For Urban cruising.

Well, the Unlimited MOAB Edition comes with a limited slip (Trac-Loc, I imagine it's like the G80), and an option to get an available rear locker. That's the MOAB edition, though. So I stand somewhat corrected.

My friend has a new wrangler unlimited, and its pretty gutless. It's a nice drive, and tackles 18" of powder snow on lakes with no problem. I would take the jeep over the Nissan, but in all truth, the Nissan is probably going to last longer. You also can't take the roof and doors off a Nissan
