just failed inspection and wow!
ok so my trucks been out of date on the inspection sticker since i think Nov. 1 i didnt get a new sticker because my horn didnt work. well i fixed that wednesday by installing an air horn. so i took it today to get it inspected and found out that my back right tail light doesnt work, i have a leak in the exhaust, i dont have a thermostatic air control, or the air injection hose, but worst of all i dont have a catalytic converter.so needless to say im a little frustrated, the guy we bought it from must have good 'ole boyed his waythru an inspection. so instead of buying a brand new cat, which the guy said it had to be and not a junk one, i was thinking of buying a junk one and welding it on, fixing the other stuff and taking it to a different station for the inspection. my older brother says he knows a guy that does drag racing that would help us get it to pass and maybe overlook a few smaller things as he isnt too keen on rules and regulations. hopefully i can save myself some money as my budget on this is very limited.
and on top of that today was my first day back in school.

ik here in wisconsin just here in the south ur required to go thru emissions but way up north u dont have to so ik some friends that dont pass emissions that registar their vehicles up north so they dont have to deal w/ emissions. i would say do that to buy u some time or something if theres an area around u like that
You can pick up a new cat for $60... Just put a universal in and weld'er up. Since you have an exhaust leak as well, fix up the rest of the exhaust while you're under there.
Tail light is easy, but the air injection lines can be a pain. I should know! Went through that with my old '85 2.8L S10.

that sucks, they did away with inspections here 2 years ago.they only ran our cars on a dyno with metal things in the tail pipes to read the levels.
My GTA failed the inspection the first time around. had a kid i went to elementary school do it. He told me to bring it tomorrow since you can only get it ran 1 time a day and he would fix it.
It had dual exhaust, so he only put one of the metal thing in the pipe. Needless to say i passed.

only time inspections are needed here are if a vehicle is 10 years old, out of province, or if it was written off then fixed. guess were lucky, lol.
