i love people like this.....

at the risk of talking politcs.....i think the biggest problem people like that woman have is they have no real problems/purpose so they pick a "cause" and then it takes there life over. so with her buying a hybrid she has justified herself and in all reality done nothing.

i believe that keeping a car that may not be "enviro friendly" for a long period of time is actually better then burning resources by buying a new one every time they increase mileage avg's....to me every mile i put on my 99 is recycling.

my over inflated two cents....the end.

Ok i have to comment on this one. FIRST of all, she's complaining about smoke with a cigarette in her hand.....that's number ONE on my ****list (i smoke so the fact that she does doesn't bother me but how can she complain about smoke while smoking?).

And SECOND of all, i woulda flipped out....talk about ignorance? Excuse me ma'am is that your hybrid over there? Yeah? Oh well while you're sitting here complaining about my diesel exhaust did you know that diesel engines burn 70% more efficiently than gas engines? Yeah did you know they produce less noxious emissions than gasoline engines as well? Really. Did you also know that the amount of lead in the batteries in your hybrid combined with the carbon footprint and pollution created by building your SINGLE hybrid is more than 300% more than to build my truck? Oh no you didn't? Did you also know that you would have to drive that vehicle for 20 years without replacing a single part to offset it's OWN carbon footprint before actually SAVING the environment anything? No you didn't know that either? oh well then go back to your car before i call the cops because you're harassing me.

And we wonder why our country is in the crapper. People are ignorant...the batteries in the hybrids will cause more harm to the earth than that diesel truck would running for 10 years non stop... some peoples kids....lol I honestly dont know why the US is the only country not offering diesel engines in more vehicles. It pisses me off that people see black smoke from diesel exhaust and automatically assume its horrible. Now we have to have dpf filters and more emissions on diesel engines. God I can not wait to get my 12 valve cummins rebuilt and roll some coal again.

Definitely! If she had come up and respectfully asked if the truck could be shut off, or even moved, I'm sure that whole situation could have been avoided altogether. But she already knew exactly what she was going to say to him when she went over there.

What do you want to bet that she sat in her Prius for 10 minutes planning her whole speech before walking over there and confronting them? Some people just have it out for the world, and she seems to be one of them.

I am currently in Korea and one of the rental vehicals is a Hyundai, Sante Fe diesel and it has good power and great gas mileage. Sadly it is not offered in the US Market.

Yep, not to mention that at the prius's top speed it gets less mpg than a mercedes with a v8 going the same speed. (I learned that from top gear )

this whole thread makes me want a diesel even more!!!

And that has happened to me, and my truck (blazer) is hardly that loud, my s10 with the highflow catback (maybe it was header back) exhaust sound like a v6 on roids. Never a complaint.
