One of the largest companies in the trucking industry will own the company that I work for by June 1. Mullen has bought other trucking companies in the past, and not many of the employees came out of those deals with a job - so I dont see it being any different this time.

Time to spruce up the old resumee and look for something better. I need better anyways with the baby on the way.

It was 2010 Christmas party when the owners of my company promised ALL of us employees and our families that something like this would never happen. I think their exact words were "Transforce offered us 650million and we laughed at them and told them we wouldnt sell for the world" and "our grandkids are going to run the company one day" they also promised us and our families a "decent" raise in the new year. I got my raise, a whole 31 cents, thats exactly 1.9% raise - Inflation this year was 2.5%... I guess thats decent to some poeple. What a joke the people I work for are. All I want is some job security. 6+ years down the hole.

 

That's bad mate. Hope you find something soon. No point hanging around waiting for the axe to fall. Ordinarily I'd say hang in there - it may not happen. But as you say, you need an upgrade in the paypacket so go for it & good luck. Hope you find a great job soon.

 

Try working for 17 1/2 years for three comps that kept merging and being told DON`T WORRY your job is safe to find out that you were lied to for 6 months and Bam....... We`re sorry to do this to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! heres your sev pay, it was a pleasure having you work for us...July 2 of 08 and I`m still unemployed.....somewheer out there is that oportunity to open my own damn business and work for myself..
