My cross Canada Road Trip

Trip Album
So, just got home this eve from the cross Canada trip. As above I mentioned that the rad cracked and had to get it replaced ....... well, that was just the start.
As for the rad, it took 2 days to get it in, but it was installed and we left for the trip across Canada. Two days later we found that the engine was going through huge amounts of rad fluid faster than we could replace it.
Turned out after having it into Canadian Tire close by they found out that when the new rad was replaced along with a new rad thermistor that the mechanic failed to install the thermistor housing back on without a gasket. he just used some sealant though I paid for a new gasket.
Once fixed again, we headed back on the road and today while getting close to home ...... about 800km from home a trailer tire blew. Can see what was left of the tire & rim in the Trip Album
To get the tire replaced we needed to lift the trailer and just happen to have a trucker stop by. He was hauling a bunch of new cars/trucks to NB & NS and came up with the idea of attaching a strap to the trailer end and the deck of the top hydraulic deck of the truck. With this he just had the deck move up which lifted the trailer and we were able to replace tire.
Also, with this trip and about 6500+km, after the rad broke the temp gauge in the dash would not work. Had to keep an eye on the engine since we could not tell if it were over heating. Thankfully it never over heated and now I need to figure out what to replace to fix it.
Anyways, there are images in the gallery from each incident as well as a few other random images.

Sounds like a rough rough trip man. The rim got absolutely demolished! Those are some nice pics of the mountains too. I didn't realize you had leather in your truck either...I'm jealous lol.
Glad to hear you made it home alright though and I'm sure it's good to be back in the Maritimes lol, ain't nothing like it.

What did you think of the hills between Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario?
Had a truck run us off the road once going down one of those hills.

So what was the reason for the short trip cross country? I want to drive across Canada at some point all the way out east. I'd rather do that then go to Mexico or something like that.
