NEW 2010 GMC Terrain
Tell me about it I sell them. However it really has been a very good vehicle for us.However it is not an SUV its a CUV or cross over. The advantage of the Terrain is that all levels come with a back up camera, tinted windows and a USB port. These features are not available on all Equinox's.Not to mention the historically higher resale value. Now to the down side, yes it is a tad boxy and people generally like the lines on the Equinox,it has a more traditional cross over look. But I wish GM would come back out with a nice mid sized full frame truck again, people still want them.I hear 4-5 times per week why did you cancel the Envoy/Trailblazer line and I answer with the usual explanation blah, blah, blah and then I throw in there that I agree with them. Then they say I'm sure what do you drive with 4 kids and Acadia and I say nope, I drive a 1995 2 door 4wheel drive Blazer since new and my wife drives a 2006 Envoy XL 4wheel drive. And then I add that I am still mad that they dropped the good old S/T series of trucks.

I just can't stomach the rear on this vehicle:

But 17/24 with AWD, not bad. Better than my Blazer even at its best. Not sure about off-road capabilities but 98% of my travels are on pavement.
I agree the tail end needs a bit of work, asfor offroad its recomended for anything worse than hard packed dirt. Its AWD system is mainly FWD until it notices slippage and then transmits power to the rear also the front air dam is about 6 1/2-7 inches from the ground and I hav had customers comment on that and they are horried about snow not rocks, ditches and whatever.Infact when I was a training class for the Equinox the trainers for GM told us that this vehicle is not designed at all to be driven off road.
Hmm... any of this sound familiar to anybody. The points that were made so far are the points that Tom, ABN and I were covering when we wrote that petition. I guess if we want offroad capable suv's or cuv's we have to look elsewhere.
I definitely would not lift it or make it offroad at all. Think offroading a toyota rav4. Its meant to be a small family suv that people drive around the suburbs. Id take the offroad package canyon crew cab before that. Probably has just as much room and alot more offroad capable.
