Prius Stuck Accelerator
what a riot!
ok, so the dude swore worse than a sailor, it was still freakin' hilarious!!!
i still think all these people who can't stop their cars from flying down the highways need to learn how to drive again.

I did get a kick out of that video however, the same thing could have been done without the foul language. And while it may be that simple on a properly working vehicle, when there is an electrical fault, who is to say that everything else is going to do what it is supposed to do...?
The problem with all of this Toyota garbage is that NO ONE knows what is happening with these vehicles. Reports are coming in that some of these Prius accidents were caused because the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration and the main electrical system in the vehicle became unresponsive.
How are you supposed to put a transmission into neutral if there is no mechanical connection between the shift lever and the transmission with an unresponsive electrical system? Or turn off the vehicle when it is an electric push button that lacks any of the mechanical electric switches that an older, more typical ignition switch has?
Now, I haven't heard confirmation of those reports from in depth investigation, but the scenario is plausible. And if it is confirmed, Toyota will have a lot more explaining to do.

Another issue is Toyota has known about these issues since 2007. Toyota never issued a recall because they could get away with calling it "driver error". But then someone died from the unintended acceleration in a Lexus Es due to a poorly installed floormat.
Investigations finally began, and it was found that this was a bigger issue. The initial fix included zip ties to hold the mats in place. They also tried trimming the accelerator to reduce the chance of catching. Since then they found out that the pedals were getting stuck internally, and tried a spacer to prevent this. Unfortunately, they are finding 'fixed' vehicles still having issues.
Since them Toyota has been trying to discredit the D3 by sending congress a sheet of common complaint of domestic issues, and saying GM is abusing taxpayer dollars to use a fear tactic against them.
To be honest, why would anybody buy a car from a company that likes playing the blame game? The worst part, this isn't the first time Toyota hid technical issues from their consumers.
