Ruger's (Pistol)
So I went to my local range today and tried out a new pistol. The Ruger SR9. It was pretty accurate and felt good in my hand. I liked it.
I like this Ruger and wouldn't mind trying out the SR1911 sometime. Anyone have one of these? Anyone have a Ruger? Like them? Thoughts?
(Pillows aren't mine btw)

It depends on what you want the sr9 for. If its a carry gun, then I would look into the kahr cw or pm45. They make very nice guns and you have to love the 45. They are just as conceable. I have the ruger lcp for a back up carry gun while my main carry is a glock 30sf or kahr cw45, depending on my attire. Ruger does make very dependable weapons, however the first production sr9s did have a recall. Iam a part time gun dealer, so I like to think I know what I'm talkin about lol.
As far as the sr1911, its just ruger putting there stamp on the standard 1911. A nice pistol, however you should look into a taurus pt1911. It comes from the factory with a lot of bells and whistles and is a very nice shooter.

I have 6 or 7 Rugers, but no SRs. I've heard pretty good reviews of them, just can't figure out a good excuse for buying a fourth 1911 right now.
Been thinking about the SR9 for a while, too. Kept getting distracted by Sigs last year so don't have one of those either.

As for 1911's you should look in to one that is mil-spec. I have built 3 1911's in the last year for myself 45 ACP, 9mm and 38 super.
if you get one that is mil-spec you will alway be able to get parts for it and a lot more custom parts are available. not all 1911's are mil-spec.
my 9mm is for steel challenge matches, 38 super for IDPA and the 45 ACP because I had one when I was in the army.
