Default Should I fix it or trade it in?

Stumbled across a pretty cool site that helps make the decision easier for you.

Is it really worth it to trade your vehicle in on something new(er) or just fix it and drive it 'til the wheels fall off?

I was surprised at what I found!

Cost Calculator

Unless I buy something that gets 35+ mpg for under $9k, I'm still ahead by a long shot with regular repairs on any of my vehicles.

Interested to hear where everyone else stands on this.

purchasing a new car will cost you an additional ($16,158.27) over a five-year period, and represents -4,300 gallons of gas.
Your cost per mile will increase -97.9 %

sounds about right. i had truck payments for like 5 years and i finally woke up. paying $500 a month for something i dont even want to drive anywhere cause its so nice is just crazy
