So I built a gaming PC
I decided I was tired of playing games at low settings on my 15" laptop screen and this is the end result.
Specs:
Intel 4th gen 'Haswell' i7 4770K
nVidia GTX 780 ti
16GB 2400 Mushkin Ram
MSI MPower MAX Motherboard
Intel 335 Series 240GB SSD
WD blue 1TB HDD
Capstone 1000W Modular power supply
Bluray DVD burner
Kraken X60 280mm prefilled cpu liquid cooler
Coolermaster Storm Stryker case
AOC 27" HD monitor
The cpu is OC'd to 3.9GH right now (I'll play with it more later) and the GPU came OC'd from Gigabyte to 1020MH
Here's how she looks.
Don't mind the mess near the front, I had an issue with the ebay seller of the case and only one of the 3.5" drive mounts came with the 'new' case. So my HDD is mounted correctly, but my SSD is just cabletied in there.

That's what I like to hear.
I've overclocked it to 4.1GHz now and just ran prime 95 for an hour and it only got to 63*C so it's nice and stable. I'll let it run overnight tonight just to make sure.

i know nothing of the jibber jabber you posted but it sure looks cool.
i used to casually play pc games growing up and i think i got turned away from it as games never just worked, with xbox/playstation you buy a game put it in the drive and it works. for me everytime i bought a pc game, had to download a ton of stuff, upgrade, google why it wont work etc.

You should be pretty happy with that hardware for a few years to come. That case is BIG, I built a very similar pc to yours last year only I put it into a Micro ATX case, about half the size of your case.
Gaming on a system like this that is built for it is a whole different thing than gaming on a console. Consoles including the new xbox one and ps4 can't compete with a system like this, the hardware just isn't there for the price. The new consoles are basically a medium range gaming laptop with a special OS that makes things a little more streamlined. This pc and others built like it will outplay consoles for years, as well as being able to do other things while your gaming.

not to mention the modding capabilities of those games.

I bet that cost you a pretty penny but none the less a nice computer that should last you a long time. Also, yeah a nice computer will out perform a console any day. Only things i hate about console gaming is you don't always get the game at the same as the consoles their is always the few exclusives you wish you had on the pc. I love to sit back and play games with some friends around my house and hate how a lot of the times the pc version will remove local co op or you have to edit files or enter console commands to get it to work.
