So long Speed Channel!
I had noticed that Speed Channel had been doing a lot of repeat programming. I put it down to summer as networks don't like to run new programming when everybody is outside.
Not so. Australian anti-gun king Rupert Murdoch and his Fox network has bought it and will rebrand it as Fox Sports 1 later this month. I don't watch ESPN and he's wanting to be a copy of it. All the auto enthusiast programming is going away. I'm not big into NASCAR since they quit being close to stock cars. However, it is a big rating draw and you have to wonder what that will do to the bottom line. Higher ratings means you can charge more for advertising.
I don't watch much TV but there are a few channels I do watch. Spike for the PowerBlock along with History and Discovery. Discovery has the Velocity Channel but I can't get it.

I tape it (yes, I still use a VCR, it's a lot less trouble and cheaper than the DVR alternatives) and watch it when I get time. I noticed that you can now watch the programming online although I didn't catch the details. I'm sure it's on their web site. I especially like Trucks, not so much the Truck part but they really pay attention to details. Xtreme 4X4 gives a lot of bad info.
