Not much to wonder about here. The original owner is still in legal possession of the title and truck. If you forge a signature on the title and get caught (can't believe anybody would advise you to do that
), then you are up the creek without a paddle.
Your options are obvious.

i approached that subject with them..they want the full $800,see this reletive is a women whos only knowlage of cars is,you get in,start it,put it in D and drive..no damn clue about repairs or what they cost..so my arguement that even after paying them 800 id have to throw another 4-500 in for fixes so 800 was unreasonable went in one ear and out the other.and i tried like 3 seperate times just got that whole *deer in headlights* look the whole time and a bunch of "uh huhs"

Dont mess around with DMV & forgeries, they have seen every trick in the book. You will get caught. If they don't want to do the right thing, and you have tried everything, decide if you could get another vehicle as good for $1300, as that is what you will have in it. If you have been driving it for a while, consider it free miles if you give it back.
If you do return it, maybe setting it on fire, pointing it into their front yard, and rolling out the door while it is still in motion would be a fitting way to do it.
I kid...

Or maybe a little valve grinding compound at your next oil change would be fitting. Takes a while to have full effect. Guarentee they spend more than $500.00 after that. Not kidding. Just hate liars and cheats.

Give it back, but f with it a little. Replace the wiper fluid with urine. Remove a random interior panel and put a dead fish in there. Pull out the radio and put a dog turd behind it. Immediately drive it over to her house and leave the keys in the seat. Next step- get away, fast. She wants it back, give it back.

$ 800 doesn't sound bad, but if you were promised it I can see your issue. If you don't think it's worth that, just return it. But just make sure when you return it, it's in no better shape than when you got it.
And you may want to make an extra set of keys, just in case you need to "borrow" it one evening and return it to the handicaped parking place in front of the police station. After customizing it with the "Pigs Suck" paint job. I wonder how much the fine, and towing, and storage fees would be? Especially if this were to occur on a Friday afternoon before the next holiday weekend.
BTW, you can decide for yourself rather I'm joking.

lol soo many options, just one truck..id i don't decide to keep the thing then i might put one or more of the above ideas into play,i particularly like the valve grinding compound idea, its not obvious and pretty much gets the intended result of F*cking the owner over while not implicating me directly lol.while just trashing it sounds awsome(id love to find out how it likes getting air lol),that might backfire a lil bit lol,no need for a lawsuit against me cuz god knows if shes willing to try to hose me out of $800,she'd def come after me for damages
lol hmm imma say your not but thats just cuz i like the idea of parking it in front of the police station alot, shes tryin to burn me outta $,might return the favor a lil
..and trust me i already have a spare ignition/lock key..so thats no problem what so ever.

$500.00 or so on repairs really isn't that bad, I've spent way more than that on my truck and I own it outright! Regardless of whatever was said or implied from the past, you already have some money invested in this right? Plus you have a good idea of what it's going to take to fix it. Bad gas mileage can usually be fixed with simple tune ups and upgrades over time.
If you do go buy a used car, $1,500.00 really aint going to get you a car worth having unless you either get lucky or somebody's likes you and gives you a killer deal. If it was me I would make some type of payment arrangement or contract and pay it off over time. Besides you could always sell it afterwards and possibly double your money or atleast break even for the $1,500.00.

So if you have 3k at your disposal you could get a fairly decent car for that. How about some pics of your bravada so we can get a more accurate picture of what your debating on keeping or letting go?
