yeah that's my thinking..the prob is the places and people round here must think their car is gold cuz the dealers, even small ones want around 4-5 and up for most of their cars. and asap i will get a couple pix up or at least post a link to the album

I hear you, same thing out here. Although right now should be a great time to buy just about anything if you have the money. At least I would like to think so given the current economy. I wouldn't mess with dealers though, I'd try to buy from a private owner for cash and keep things simple.

Hmm... just saw your pics and it don't look to bad on the outside. How clean is it on the inside and how clean is the engine bay? Again I'm leaning twoards keeping it and possibly selling it after you make the repairs, or don't make the repairs and use it as a trade in. another thing that I would do is to make a list of all the repairs that need to be done and get price qoutes from parts stores online and that will help give you you a much more accurate price figure on what the cost of repairs would really be.

I tend to agree. Doesn't seem to be in bad shape at all. I would insist on having the title before I spent another dime on her though. Maybe make a list of all she needs now, and throw in a few things you have already fixed. Then take it to the owner and offer 600. I tend to think you could make a buck or two on a resale if you want to and have the time.

And remember, dealers have "haggle room" built in to their price.

see, i was just gonna say remove all the stuff that you've replaced, with the old crap (if you still have it), but i like your idea better.

do you have a cat Bravada? i'd be scooping out the litter box into the body panels (like Phil suggested) and let her have the truck. even in moderately cool weather (just above freezing) that s**t's gonna stink-no pun was originally intended, but it sure worked out that way.

seriously, this bitch Aunt of yours is obviously seeing an easy fix to her cash issues. let her have it back (with the above mentioned *ahem* "extras").

see if you ever have to speak with her again (i gonna guess "No".)

just remember, keep it legal, otherwise she's gonna make your young life hell.

I have to disagree with you bro. Stuff like this brings lots of bad karma.

If you have $3000 ready to spend on a vehicle... You have the upper hand.

Go to her place with $300 (factoring in price-repairs), and wave the cash in one hand, and keys in the other. Let her decide, give her a minute to do so...

When she's about to make her decision, say you have to take a leak reaaaaal bad, tell her to keep talking. If she chooses the truck, flush the keys down the can, take your money and get another car. If she chooses the cash, you're good!

I dunno, I can get creative with evilness ever since my inlaws royally screwed me over... LOL

Not to start preaching to anybody here but two wrongs don't make a right, plus we only have one side of the story and instead of offering objective advice/ opinions everybody is saying how they would destroy this car. I'm certain there's more to this story than we were told, either way $800.00 for a car that was on loan really isn't all that bad.

thanks for taking my side cheifum, 'cause that's where i was going with the karma angle.

i never meant destroy the truck, and you're absolutely right about only having one side of the story. but if the vehicle was given to him, and now she wants some cash, then she's being a bitch and trying to extort money from him. she knows he had to do repairs, has driven the truck for awhile now (how long have you had it anyways?) so he's grown on it.

kinda playing on the heart strings if you ask me.

but you know what, sometimes it's better to cut your losses and find something better. if she's not demanding the truck back ASAP, then take a bit & do some searching for something else-but don't drag it out, 'cause you never know what she'll pull to screw you over (since it sounds like she's trying to do that now).

GL, keep us posted.

if it was me i would take it to the local shop to get the tranny flushed then give it back to her, tell her thanks for letting you use it but you decided to get something better on gas and laugh under your breathe as you walk away.
