Transmission & transfer case
I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado 5.3L how do I find out what transmissions and transfer cases I can replace it with. As in the years and makes and models of rigs that would have a replacement transmission and transfer case. I know the transfer case model is 261LDGM but don’t know transmission model
There should be a tag on the transmission and the transfer case which will tell you what they are. More than likely transmission is a 4L60E and transfer case is probably a NV241. Like transman said you could probably use anything 98-03 but be weary of the slight differences identified in the video as some bolt holes are different. Transfer case doesn't really matter too much you can get an adapter from a junk yard as long as output and input spline count match.
