Want a free Up Armored HMMWV...?

All you have to do is be Iraqi. Prepare for a mostly pointless rant...
So, with the sweet $ the US is pumping into the Iraqi pseudo-government, they purchased from us, 8,500 older model (M-1114) Up-Armored HMMWVs (humvees son, humvees!). They also get a huge stock of replacement tires, and a staggaring mountian of replacement parts. So can you loan me $50? Thanks dude. Now, I'll give you $50 for that iPod. Awesome, thanks again, dude!
Oh, BTW, after we pass them over, they refurbish them with our spare parts, and "class them up a bit" before they hit the streetz...

Fun Facts: A base line M998 soft HMMWV is the weakest military production vehicle we have (battle ready wise)
A M1114 runs between $150,000-$165,000 to produce.
I have had to go to the Iraqi Army to get parts for MY trucks before (only stock M1151 parts as we gave the M1114's away).
In Afghanistan they trick thier trucks out WAY more! this is an Afghany "jingle truck". they haul trash, and if you are lucky, haul in some traditional Afghan cuisine (after the trash it pushed out, they are not animals)

At least the economy is fixing itself, right?

TBH, those jingle trucks are what i remember most about the 'stan. (pathetic confession in 3...2...1...) i cant drive a stick, but I gave those things hell a few times after the inspection was completed in the blast pit just so i could say i drove one. (if lunging forward 12 feet consitutes 'driving' than i'm not lying either!) not pretty at all. and you would be surprised at how pissed the owners get
they smell like the look, a sensation slap-in-the-face.
