Default what a deal

I am looking at a 97 gmc jimmy 4x4 its fully loaded and the body is straight the interior has some tears and is EXTREMLYdirty it needs tires and a windshield it runs very rough but it looks like the original plug wires (197k miles) and the airfilter hose is slightly disconected form the MAF theres no water in the oil or anything like that the trans shifts fine and the 4x4 works. He's asking 1000 for it does that sound fair are there any other things that i sould look out for on these trucks?

Mostly with older vehivles the body brings the price way down. If the body is not too rusted and the interior is decent, for $1000 I would have no problem with cleaning it out. But make sure you know what's wrong with it mechanically first. 197K isn't new but it's also not ancient. I paid 1800 for my 94 s-10 blazer and the interior was missing patches of carpet, body was rusted at door panels and it still idels funny.
Bottom line is I can understand the price being so low because of the windshield and tires because most people have to pay a shop to fix the shield, but I'd still look into it mechanically to make sure there isn't any hidden gremmlins the dealership is hiding from you.
