Default What Do You Use For Your Phone?

So I picked up one of those brackets that hangs from a dash vent.
Here's a photo:

Here is a shot showing the brand name.
I only paid about $6 for it.

So here is a picture of it with my phone.

So the problem is that it keeps falling off of the vent.
Either way, it has come loose from being pushed back too far too.

So while I was snapping these photos I came up this idea.
Should have thought of it sooner.

The blade on that side of the vent has been pushed back.
I'm unsure if it's actually broken or if I can snap it back in place if I take the vent off.

One thing I can tell you for sure is that when I use my Waze APP for traveling it chews up the battery, so I keep it plugged in.
So then it wants to overheat and stop working!
Although being placed directly in front of the vents helps keep it cooled off enough that it will keep working.

Oh, if you're wondering, it's an HTC 10 with just a simple plastic case that snaps into the clip on my belt.
I really dislike having it in one of my pockets.

So after all of this I'm now wondering what other people use for their phones in the blazer or even the other vehicles you find yourself driving during the week?

I normally just have the phone in the cup holder or the console storage in front of said cup holders.

Used to use the magnetic clip style, similar to yours. I roll with the Otter box case, and I've found that it's often too heavy of a case for most of these vent mounting clips.

Thanks for the reply.

I had tried to place mine in one of the cup holders and it just wouldn't stay there.
It would continue to fall out.
Then once I had to plug it in to charge, I could not get it to even sit in there for nothing.

So no matter what I did, it would start to overheat.
Once that happens it stops charging.
During the winter months in Michigan it's not a problem.

My wife has the Garmin Nuvi, I don't have one currently or I could change to that until the phone was fully charged.

I saw a phone holder somewhere that fits into a CD player slot. It looked pretty cool, but I have no personal experience with it.

looks interesting but then I'm not sure if I can make something like this work.
Since the CD player in my stock radio doesn't work and will not allow me to even push a disk in at all!
Just to let others know, these are only $10 on Amazon.

I use this and I love it
Amazon Amazon
. It does require you to put a metal plate inside your phone case so you can't use wireless charging which is a downside for some but I love the ease of use with the magnet and it holds really well. Also it comes with a clear sticky plastic so you don't have to worry about adhesive residue sticking to your dashboard.

I had one of the CD player style before I upgraded my head unit and I hated it. It leaves your phone right in front of your radio and then if your charging the cord hangs down to. I also found it to be far less stable than the one I have now right up until the tab that's used to secure it in place broke off making it totally useless all together.

Similar to what rexmburns uses, I used this one also here on
Amazon Amazon
. It's 7 bucks and is magnetic. You have to put a little magnet in the back of your case but it firmly held my iphone in a lifeproof case on the vents.
