True story.

I worked at a residential treatment facility for teenage boys a few years back. I had the 'special' garter belt from my Wife hanging. (The one I took off and threw into the crowd of bachelors was a basic, no-frills lace one) Nothing outlandish, just white lace with her wedding colors, pink and green. I had it up forever. Out of the blue, the director asks me to take it down. I ask why. His response?

"The boy are asking questions about what it is."

I said, "So tell them. There's nothing wrong with it."

"Please take it down."

Why on EARTH would we be honest about a topic that teenage boys are curious about - sex. It's much better to just hide it from them so they find out from all the wrong places. Besides, a garter belt is a tradition. It doesn't have to be sexual.

Before the garter belt it was my college tassel, and before that my high school tassel. Now it's nothing because I don't want to give the police any reason to pull me over. Even if you've done nothing wrong and they pull you over, they can use that to give you a ticket for the same reason mentioned before - obstruction of view.

I used to have fuzzy dice on the mirror, but couldn't stand the distraction.

Now they're on the "OH **** Handle."

Well when kids grow up in a bubble when they go off to college or the military they go wild. They get into all the trouble and cause all the problems. Oh well. I've never heard of anyone getting pulled over for something in their rearview.. but it doesn't suprise me its happened tho.
