Well, I know you guys are good with your hands. What do you play, how long, any cool accomplishments? Let's hear some stories.

I started playing drums when I was 14. Ended up in a band at 16 and by 17 had played at a local bar a few times and headlined a couple shows at our high school. After high school our last "gig" was our lead guitar/singer's graduation party before he left for the army. We had a handful of originals and played a lot of Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Hendrix...etc..

Shortly after that, the rest of us pretty much went our separate ways and I picked up acoustic guitar since it's more of a solo instrument. I'm not great, but I can play quite a few classic rock/rock songs now. (Foo fighters, Johnny Cash, Rise Against, Pink Floyd, Jack Johnson...)

Bonus points if you can figure out where I got the idea for the title of this thread.

Also, any cool songs to play on guitar would be nice. I'm runnin out of ideas.

 

Ive played violin for 14 or so years now. Ive played in a lot of solo recitals for my private teachers. I was also in a youth orchestra for 8 years. We played everything from LOTR and Star Wars soundtracks to Vivaldi and Beethoven.

I tend to prefer classical music when I am playing....though I do know Devil Went Down to Georgia.....

 

I play bass and do backing vocals for my band. We're a cover group and do everything from Hendrix to Godsmack. Funny thing is all the other guys in the band are my dad's age. But it's so nice not having to deal with the inconsistencies of most younger musicians.
