Most of you have reached stage 4- being annoyed at non-searchers then at noobs in general. You'll evolve. A little tolerance will make your life not so short in the end.

Stage 1- You're a part of something- cool! Tribal/Clan needs feeling met.

Stage 2- Cripe- someone just blasted you for not reading a faq. Man that's mean.. you didn't deserve that.

Stage 3- Blast someone for not reading the FAQ- Now "they" will accept you.

Stage 4- Man that was fun- I didn't used to- but now I really DO hate the noobs- I'm gonna BE SOMEONE ON HERE!

Stage 5- Man- all I do is troll for newbs to bash them and repeat things others have said in their posts.. I try to do this faster than anyone else because my post-count is pretty lame compared to my IDOLS. I keep track of my posts and try to get the high-posters to post in my thread but I think by now I've realized that only the people like me are paying attention.

Stage 6- I had an original thought today and it wasn't dribble! it CAN be done. Man I have to figure out how to erase those posts I made back in '07 they're not me- what was I doing?

Stage 7- I'm finished with this game.. it's one big game of W/S, it's associated periodic bikkering over spelling errors etc for a large percentage of the members and by now I've taken my interactions offline along with a group of individuals who I've learned are the real deal.. like me.

Stage 8- There ARE people back on that list that I should care about- it's the NEW people. I can do the MOST good.. maybe even set a young lad off into a direction that does many people around him some good.

Stage 9- You'll all have to go rent a very early Tom Hanks movie (and understand it) to move beyond this.

There- shortcut city. Ignore it.

People asking the same questions over and over again (yes, newbs) can be a little irritating but I guess I'm a sucker and actually answer them (most of the time when I can help) but I also steer them to links that answer their questions too. I guess my biggest peeve (for example) is like the guy who wanted to know what size wrench his oil drain plug took. C'mon man! If you're too damn lazy to crawl under your truck to find out yourself, either don't be changing your own oil (cause I really worry whether you're gonna remember to put the plug back in) or just get a crescent wrench. Like to help when I can because I might just need some one of these days (haven't yet but did get a few good pointers on doing some stuff that made jobs easier). I'm just a firm believer in buying the proper resource material and biting the bullet for the cost. Always been worth it many times over.

Im a member on numerous forums. Some are more tolerant to newbies than others. Generally the level of tolerance is related to the content and library on the site. For example dont go to a hard core rock climbing site that is full of tech on axle swaps, engine swaps, suspension tech, etc, and ask how to change a battery. You'll get an earful, or rather eye full.

Most forums have a newbie section to help them out with basic questions and general forum rules. We do too.

Just remember one thing, every one of us learned what we know. We didnt come out of the womb knowing jack about Blazers/turcks/ or anything for that mater. Most learned that fire is hot the first time, some of us took a little longer.

Eh I will admit I get tired of reading 100 threads that all say "How do I crank my torsion bars?" or "Will 31 inch tires fit my stock blazer?". But at the same time I hate seeing a post with a ton of views and no responces. So I try to hit all the areas of the forum that I might offer any help or advice to. I've really only started posting in the last 6 monthes or so.

I used to just lay back and search the archives for info. But it seemed like there was the summer influx of car audio threads about 1-2 monthes back. And another member, MTopper, was answering alot of them feverishly. I saw alot of them I could help on and I jumped in. Out of the 450+ posts I have, probley 300 of them have came since april and I joined in Feb. or 09. I've learned and been taught so many things by the members and the archives of this forum.

The only thing I always thought was funny is people always say "There's is alot of information on this subject, search the forum". But when you search the forum, you get alot of threads that just say "search the forum". It's like some common questions need to be answered from time to time so this doesn't happen. Then agian I like answering the simple questions that the newb's post on here. Cause going on two years ago, I was that newb trying to figure out what size tires for a set of 22's on a 1st gen blazer.

Most newbs just ask the question they have and then leave never to be heard from agian. But alot of newbs turn into great members that contribute vast information and friendship amongst the common bond that joins us, our Blazers/Jimmys/Bravadas. And in some cases Fullsize Blazers and Fullsize trucks. (Don't wan't to leave out members like Oktain and Swartlkk! )

Also i think they post there little petty questions as a way of getting established on the forum ya no. but it still irritates me when i see a new post and wouldnt you know it after looking through 3 pages i found the answer to the question they asked.. all answered by the ten other posts (exaggeration) asking the same question

I agree though. When it's a simple question that could be answered by a quick search, or even looking at a sticky at the top, it's aggrivating as hell. But speaking from personal experience I try to look up somethings and alot of the threads I find sat "This has been answered before, try searching".

That's the deffinition of Irony to me. Searching for an answer and finding someone else asked the same question and you think alright heres the answer they were talking about. You read the thread and it's someone saying "this has been answered before, search around."

You'll have this on just about any forum. Some people just don't think. Everytime you see a stupid warning like "shallow water, do not dive" you think who would dive here? But someone has done it for there to be a warning. Television sets were the first trouble shooting step for problems is "is it plugged in?" Who unplugs thier tv? But for it to be a first step someone has had to do it.

How many people do you see run out of gas on the road. Even with cars having lights that light and chimes when the gas is low, and even digital read outs that show how many miles are left till empty. People still run out of gas. Some people are just that way,

Not necessarily true. I've been a Ford guy my entire life and I haven't misbehaved, heh.

When I was a kid my dad had a '67 and '68 Mustang Fastback, '32 Ford pickup... though, it did have a 350 in it. Now he has a '56 F100 and his dad's '66 Mustang convertible. All of his work vehicles minus one are Fords. He's had a few GMCs and had an S10 in the late 80s. So I've pretty much been raised Ford, but unbiased.

You don't see that too often... I think you're just pretending to be unbiased and cry yourself to sleep everynight

jk... I was one of those noobs who posted a thread asking how I remove the shift **** on my 5spd... I never was able to do it because after looking at it for a LONG time I figured out the **** was actually glued on... too this day I only got 1 or 2 replies.

Well being bored I started becoming an active member on this site. To get anywhere these days, if you have a question you feel may be asked ALOT I always search first, if I can't find what I'm looking for I'll start the thread with "I've searched and couldn't find JACK" (or Waldo for that matter).

I'm a member on GMFS and I find the moderation is a little looser, and what was previously GMTF has non-existant moderation, and from what I can tell that forum died, freaking tumble weed rolls across my office floor when I go on that site...

As for ****** and asses (sounds like a bad porno), this is a forum that has a low number of them to tell you the truth... my snowmobile forum went through a stage where someone couldn't post an honest problem without getting flamed. I made a mistake in one of my answers, I was off by one year and there was 2 pages about how I'm a jackass... I flew off the handle and used big words to show the mental midgets up...

Why? It seemed like the thing to do at the moment, but honestly I've been a member there since like 2005 and I havn't even broken 200 posts becasuse of the attitude of the site.

I find for the most part that this forum has become a little less active lately, and it's mostly the same group of members who are always making threads lol.

BURN HIM!!!! LOL, but seriously, I am a chevy guy... BUT, BUT, BUT (dont hate me), For some reason, the 70 boss.... idk why, but I would definitely own one.... (cries a little)....

There is nothing wrong with being a fanboy of either with the exception of being biased... just like mac versus pc.... Most people just start off and say, Mac sucks (pc lovers) or PC sucks (mac lovers...)

Its good to be unbiased... Plus when you get older than 1950... every car is pretty damn sexy!
