I try to do my job correctly because I'm lazy and don't want to do it again. I'm also cheap so I'd much rather get paid for a job than doing free work.

Well said! That's exactly what i tell my guys: "I'm lazy". I dont mind laziness, but you have to figure out how to do a job faster, cheaper, smarter to earn your slack time though. its shocking how hard people can work in order to not work as hard. LOL

I was always told to find the easiest way to do something right in the shortest time find the guy that's been doing it the longest and watch him.

Well, there are 2 different definitions of lazy, There are the lazy unmotivated people, and there are the lazy people who only want to do something once. I just call them perfectionists LOL

I truly detest people that want to keep information/skills/know how to themselves. I've been in the position of the only one knowing and I TRIED to teach others, to no avail. Of course, just before I left they came begging for me to teach others.

For those that hoard information/skills/know how I just want to know why? To feel important? Needed? Wanted? Sounds like a person is insecure to me.

I have always taught someone to take my place. If you don't, you'll never move up. You'll always be stuck in the same position. Now, if that is a position you are happy in...fine. If you have aspirations to move up, learn what you can from the person you want to replace and teach someone to take your place.

Just my humble opinion from over a quarter of a century of learning and teaching from those above and below my position at the time. YMMV.
