baggin a 4x4 blazer
i got a 98 4x4 4 door blazer black on black that i want to make lay frame. now i've done a couple 2x4 s-10's they were simple along with a 87 yota on 18's which was a pain. i know i will have to eliminate the 4 wheel drive and the torson bars but im not worried about that. unless taking out the transfer case and half shafts is goin to cause a problem some where else. my main question is, and i could prob answer my own question if i had a 2x4 available to me, is it possible to replace the front hubs with 2x4 drop spindles. or is the distance between the upper and lower control arms taller with the 4x4. and will the steering controls line up. if they are not i believe baging the front should be quick and easy with the shocks already relocated for the half shafts to run by. if you know of any other problems that i might run into please let me know

I believe the front is completely different but I could be wrong. You would have to custom make something or buy a 2wd frame.

What you are going to need to do is swap tranni's first and get rid of all the 4wd stuff like you said you knew your going to have to. Then in the front since there is no spring cups on the frame your going to have to bag it off the frame like a yota or hardbody!!! dropspindles shouldn't be a problem bolting up and you will then lay out the front. One thing to keep in mind is make sure the caliper's will bolt up to the drop spindles if not you may have to convert your calipers over to a 2wd blazer conversion with spindles like the drop spindles you want to use im going through the spindle conversion now cause mine came with a sealed hub design!! Any other questions just ask!!
