Default 2001 blazer LT AC Problem

I had to jump the leads going to the compressor to get the clutch to ingage. Preassure dropped to zero. I put about a quarter can of ac pro in and Preassure went up to about ten lbs. But after cutting the ac off Preassure jumped up to to red on the gage. What are your thoughts. Am I okay to continue filling to proper lbs or is it going to blow. Yes compressor clutch would cut on for a few sec then cut off for about 10 secs before i jumped the lEads coming out of can to ac pump.. still no cold ac as well

Colors don't cut it for AC work. At the very least, we need actual high side and low side pressure readings to make any kind of accurate diagnosis. A manifold gauge set is mandatory equipment for servicing AC. These systems are very sensitive to the amount of refrigerant and oil charge. "about a quarter can of ac pro" is not nearly accurate enough. As little as 2 ounces low will cause poor performance, and 2 ounces high could cause over pressurization under certain circumstances. There is only one way to know how much refrigerant is in the system: Drain it, evacuate it to 29.4" for a minimum of 1 hour, recharge with the proper amount of refrigerant. Manifold sets and evacuators are available for around $200.
