Default 86 K5 Transfer Case

I need to replace the transfer case in my 86 K5. Is this a reasonalbe DIY project for 50's plus guy? If so, any pointers would be appreciated.

Billy in Mariposa, CA.

yeah pretty easy. drain the fluid then you just take the driveshafts off. the linkage off. speedometer cable, electrical, and vent hose off. then its like 6 bolts holding it on. if you have a lift 2 people can just pick it up and lower it. kinda risky on the floor so use a floor jack.
