Default Another new guy here.

My Blazer is an '02 model. My daily driver and work truck all rolled into one. No showpiece by any means. I've had it ten years now and have put just over 100,000 miles on it during that time. Still running strong. I had the transmission rebuilt about five years ago, and the rear end was bit of a nightmare a few years ago. I carry a LOT of weight, so much so that I have extra leaf springs and coil over shocks to keep the back of the truck from dragging the ground. I had the rear end rebuilt twice, and eventually had to give up on it. I ended up with a Ford unit from an old Explorer. Tried a couple used ones at first, but finally wound up getting a core and rebuilding it myself. Once that was in it's been solid ever since.

My problem today has nothing to do with the Blazer, but it is S10 related. I'm not sure where to post this just yet, so I'll start here and see what happens. Problem is with my previous daily driver/work truck. An '88 model, 4.3l throttle body engine. It doesn't get used much any more, which I believe is part of my problem. Like an old dog, it sits more than it runs, usually for weeks, sometimes months.

The issue is this. It's developed a problem whereby it won't start when it's hot. Starts fine cold, (runs just a bit ragged for a minute or so, not really a problem) runs fine on the road. No problem there. Trouble comes when I get where I'm going and the motor is all warmed up, and I shut it off. It will start back up, but only once. It starts right up, just like I would expect it to, but shut it off again, and it's done. Simply will not start a second time. Cranks as fast as ever, but will not fire. Three hours later, and it fires up without hesitation.

I read somewhere about a certain temp sensor that might cause that, and replaced the one I think was mentioned. Made no difference. I took it for a ride today, needed to move some stuff from one place to another.. Left it running at both places while loading and unloading, then drove home. Shut it off, waited a few seconds and it fired right back up. Ran it few seconds, shut it off and tried again. A couple stumbles then nothing. It has spark, all the way to the plugs. I even tried dumping a little gas down its throat, but couldn't get it to hit a lick.

I'd like to use it more, but it's hard to have much confidence in getting back home without waiting somewhere for three hours for it to cool back down to "starting temperature".

Any thoughts or experiences with something similar would be well received.
