Hi, how are you? I'm from South America, from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, in my childhood my father had a GMC Jimmy 88, a Ford Bronco 89, and another Ford 85, so I was delighted with the wagons, I recently acquired a chevy k5 blazer cheyenne 79, in good general condition, I have carried out suspension, steering and carburetor change work (I had a vw and I put a rochester 2bbl on it until I can get a 4bb), spark plugs, hei distributor, and maintenance Generally, it has a 350 5.7 engine, with a 4-speed box (the first is the granny) with a transfer box I think it is np205, because it has 4low, N, 2H and 4H (from top to bottom), in front it has the gm 10 bolts, and on the back of 12 bolts, front brake disc and rear drum, it has 31 '' tires on 15 rims, I have not yet been able to test its 4x4. regards
Thank you very much, that is what I have read, although the gear ratio is a bit heavy but it is handled without problems in the city, I hope to have it for many years and that my children and grandchildren enjoy it, it is a 7-year project that I have programmed to make it like new.
That looks like it's in excellent condition. Great find.
You normally don't need to use low gear around town. It's not synchronized, so it sometimes doesn't like to go in gear without clashing. I often start in second gear (marked "1" on the ****), especially in low range. Low is great for crawling, though.
Yes, I do not use it in my daily driving, I do like you, I put 1 on the **** and roll, the granny comes as L on the ****, it is in good condition in general, I just have to change the steering box and its pump , because it no longer works, and I am like with mechanical steering, the springs are new, I changed the 4 because they were crooked and some were broken, it is a good project.
