Default Ghost in my Car

A friend and myself were replacing the HVAC housing and when we reconnected the battery the car started up by itself ( no keys in the ignition, ignition switch in the off position) this happened 5 times when attempting to reconnect the battery. Has anyone else had this experience. Also weird things like: with headlights on the interior right turnsignal stays illuminated. With the lights off, it flashes very rapidly (yes I checked and changed all the bulbs) the right headlamp and fog light will not glow. Could all of this be related to bad ground issue somewhere?

Damaged wiring in the steering column, specifically the multi-function switch and/or ignition switch?

That sounds reasonable.. I will start there and see what I can figure out. Thank you for the suggestion!
