Ed here.
My sister in law just purchased a 2000 Blazer LT that needed some work for PA inspection. It's in my driveway now while I button it up. So far so good. I put new lower ball joints, sway links and brakes on the front plus replaced one hub that was starting to go. Slapping a new boot on the driver's CV axle and then she's off to the mechanic for stickers.
209K miles. Runs like a dream and is very clean inside. Hopefully it gets a couple more years for her.
I don't mind doing the work on it either. It's big enough that there is plenty of room to get in there (unlike my Malibu which can be a bit tight underneath. Plus, I'm a manager in a software company, so it's a bit of a break from my regular duties. I can hit things with BFH and nobody bats an eye. If I do that with a consultant, I get arrested
Anyway - glad the forum is here. I'll be perusing and searching as I go.
