I live an hour north of detroit and last year I bought a 1996 Jimmy with a bad motor. My intentions was to rebuild another engine put it in and go.Its turn into one of the most major projects I took on in 15 years. The body is extremely clean considering I live in the rust belt.I paid $500 for it.Im wondering if its realy worth it or not.I got over $900 invested in so far now I find the trans is fried and Im going to rebuild it.

Welcome. Just like me I am new here.
I purchased a 1998 Blazer in February 2012. It was a beautiful looking truck. To bad I did not realize that it needed MAJOR work. I feel in love with it and decided to get er fixed. What was needed? Complete front steering, front and rear differentials, drive shafts, u-joints, halfshafts, and tires.
Many $$ later the truck is complete and runs GREAT. DTS in Ionia did some TREMENDOUS work. Considering I live in Indianapolis and had the truck worked on in Ionia, MI you know these guys are worth the drive!
I am very happy to have my Blazer back. I think I will have many years and miles of happy driving.
So, I say FIX IT and LOVE IT!
