I originally did a 3/4 drop on mine the old fashioned way, chopped the springs and added a 4 inch tapered drop block to the rear it road really good IMO, and handled really well. For the rear plastic what I did is sand mine smooth then tapped them off and sprayed filler primer over them (did a couple of coats) then sanded them in between coats of primer then shot them with a gloss black and they look pretty good and no more brown!!

As for lowering, I wouldn't want to go the route you originally did. I want to just get the drop spindles and lowering springs up front, drop shackles and springs out back, and replace all the shocks with good ones that are designed for lowered vehicles. At that same time, I want to upgrade the anit-sway bar(s) to something beefier.
You have to remember, I come from driving a Miata for the last 3 years, so I don't want to one day forget what I'm driving, take a corner a little too fast and dump the Blazer on its side! Why?... Because that would suck! LOL [8D]
