Where the hell are you buying your axles? I've got through 2 rear ends and I sure as hell couldn't find one for no 100 bucks. lol

Oh and welcome to the forum. I personally don't like the IFS... its on my boyfriends 2wd Burban and doesn't look like it would be able to take mud well at all. Which is why it's on a 2WD.

alright so i think were probably gonna get the k5 hopefully this week if i get the job, but i have my 1989 Chevy K2500 5.7L Reg cab 8ft bed 4x4 5spd. manual pickup that we are gonna eventually junk because the frame is doin horrible right now, alot of the reason why i need the k5. but im planning on taking some good stuff off of it, like i want the motor,trans,transfercase, and rear axle(big beefy axle that is a 14 bolt i think stock.) and i was just wondering, do you guys kno what parts are basically an easy swap between my 89 k2500 and the 90 k5?

huh?!? looks the same as a '89 what? the '89 through '91 Blazers had the same front end (talking grill and HL's) the only other front end that was available on this was the "plain Jane" front end found on the dually's from the same years (i think it had to do with the trim line though, not sure).

here's a couple of pic's to compare;

why not check the VIN? 10th digit is the year, starting in '81 with "A". so '82 would be "B", '83 "C", you get the idea. there's no "I" (i), "O" (o), or "Q" (q) used (H would be '87, J would be '88).

alright well i got the job, so now we need to go do a full look over and my dads doin all that and drivin it and stuff, but yea the k5 looks like that second thumbnail the red one the front end looks just like that, i thought in 90 they changed to the plastic 1 peice headlights instead of the 2 glass lights on each side, because i kno i have the seperate glass ones on my 89 and the trucks in 90 switched to the plastic ones
