Thumbs down just got a 99' bazer 4x4 2dr

photo's to come. its got 155,xxx miles, runs very strong. no issues other that a grinding noise coming from the passenger side whenever making a left hand turn. cant feel anything in the stearing wheel, all the boots on the stearing componets are good other than the tie rod.... got a friend who's worked on cars all his life and seems to know his stuff. says to replace tie rod, im short on money so just ooking for some suggestions on what this could be and around how much to fix if you think you know the problem. all suggestions are appreciated.

It could be the brakes . Check the inside pads and rotor for wear. If it happens when you turn a certain way it could be that something is outt of place and is causing metal to metal contact. Check for wear marks in the area the noise is. Also the constant velocity joints could be damaged. Hope it helps. New this forum stuff but very familiar with vehicles

im leaning towards a wheel bearing going or cv axle. try putting it in 4hi and see if the noise goes away. if the noise doesnt go away more than likely its the wheel bearing and if it goes away when in 4hi its your cv axle. another way is to jack up all four wheels on stands put in 4hi and with a stehascope spin up the wheels and have a listen.

its a wheel bearing no doubt...never had good luck with them in my old 99...replaced both twice in 45,000 mi. make sure you get GOOD quality parts or you'll be replacing it again in short order
