Hiya ya'll wish I would have found this sight 16 years ago I might then still have my first blazer. She was a 1985 triple black two door, five speed manual, full off-road package, big-ole tires, full skid plates and not chinsy ones either i'm talking heavy duty steel and to top it all off she had an eight track player, bummed I cant remember who the artist was. Boy I sure do miss her. On a brighter note I am now the proud owner of a 2001 4wd/4dr, 4.3l Vortec V6 Auto, got it for a steal, I am the third owner. First owner, older male took real great care with maintenance, repairs and even kept records. Second owner was an older gal who became disabled shortly after buying this blazer so it sat for quite some time, during that period it was driven by random healthcare professionals whom weren't very nice to it. The fore mentioned second owner had it for five years and let it fall into a sad state of disrepair, this is how I found it. Oil hadn't been changed once in that time, battery was dead, ac was dry and out of free-on, tires where bald and severely weathered. When I drove her for the first time (after changing the battery) she pulled hard to the left and wobbled to a stop. Oh yeah I forgot to mention why I was driving it in the first place, I was the onsite manager for the building the old gal lived in and she was trying to sell it, she saw me working on my rides from time to time and decided to see if I could help her get it going so she could. Well after putting the battery in and discovering all the neglect, I did some research and gave her a price for all the repairs in order to get what she was asking (6000.00) the bill was over half her asking price at the most reputable shop in town, top notch team and they do good work. I offered her two grand knowing that I could do the wrenching myself and cut the repair bill down considerably also due to the fact that where I live at any given time you can be in a parking lot and see three to five of this body style blazer. And all the local parts stores have the parts on the shelves. She sold it to me right then and there. So begins a new love affair. The last five months of nursing her back to life. List: oil change with sea-foam and fram gold filter, antifreeze, didn't need to drain or flush was near empty, air filter, fuel pressure regulator, fuel cap, right front wheel bearing assembly, right front cv and front break pads, and a used but decent set of rubber all the way around. I also installed my alpine deck, 830 pioneer amp and two Sony explode 1100 watt max 10s in a ported box, they sound way better in her than they did in any of my previous vehicles. Still needs: rear pads, shoes for parking brake, fuel pump, there is more to the list but for now I am concentrating on the most crucial issues due to the fact that I live in Alaska and the snow is about to fly. As far as upgrades that will have to wait till all the much needed tlc is done, but nothing to fear I am going to keep this whip for a long time it will be my daughters some day and she is five now, she already calls it her blazer!!
