New Blazer Owner from Oklahoma
2004 Chevrolet Blazer 4.3L V6 4x4
Greetings, fellow Blazer and S10 owners! The name’s Drew and I just dropped about $3000 on this nice little number in Arkansas three days ago. 172k miles and a sweet little growl when I put some throttle behind it. Seeing as I’m not much of a mechanic (though I’m always willing to learn) I figured finding a community of folks who enjoy and appreciate their vehicles would be a great place to start.
I also lucked out in that the seller happens to be a GM mechanic, as well. Basically, anything I can do to keep this gold-painted stallion on the road, I intend to do.
Hope to make some new bros around here! Blaze, homies.

Welcome!!
You are correct. This is the place to be to keep your Blazer on the road.
If the previous owner was a GM mechanic, you likely have a well-maintained one.
Still, yoy should check out the thread of common Blazer issues.
There is only one that can cause catastrophic damage, a water leak from the lower intake manifold (LIM) gaskets. Hopefully yours has had them replaced already.
P.S. Yours being a 2004 might be late enough that the LIM gaskets are not a problem.
