New to Blazers!
Well I picked up my first Chevy last night. It's pretty much a project car I decided to buy. It's a 85 4x4 with the ultra weak 2.8L lol. I have allot of plans for it, but first I want to do a good tune up on it, get rid of as much vacuum line as possible, and get the interior, and exterior looking right. Then I will be swapping in a 350 or 4.3 V6 whichever ends up being more practical. Seems like I will be going with the 350 since it will pretty much just be a fun little project. Thankfully one of my good friends is a Chevy master, and knows just about everything there is to know when dealing with this chasis and motor swaps and chey's in general. He just got a 240sx which I am helping him with since I have been into Nissans and Honda's mostly. I finally convinced him to try out a SR20DET swap in a 240 and promised him he would be in love. Anyways I hope to learn allot here, and I already am in love with my new purchase. I've always liked the old school S10 Blazers, and I just got a running one for $600. Now it's time to sink my teeth in and learn about this chasis.

A buddy of mine had a mid 80s 4x4 s10 blazer with a 305 and a 700r4. That thing was wicked fast on road and off. The drivetrain was the weak link withthe v-8 and bigger tires. he had to learn to keep his right foot off the floor. Your new project sounds fun, keep us posted...

Thanks for the warm welcome. I will take pictures tonight before we start and post them tonight or tomorrow.
It needs allot of work, but it being a toy for the most part it will be fun.
Plans for tonight & tomorrow night include:
Getting it to the shop (so nice to have an enclosed shop with everything you need to work)
New battery
Cap & rotor button
Plugs & Wires
Tracing a wiring problem (turn signals don't work and audible static through the radio) - I'm sure that will be fun.
Getting rid of unnecessary vacuum lines and tracing all vacuum leaks
Transmission flush and new filter
Engine Flush & oil change
Coolant system flush
New Crankcase breather, Fuel Filter, Air Filter, PCV valve and hose, and shocks all the way around.
