Default New To Blazers in WV.

I just bought a 96 Blazer LS 4 dr, 4wd, 6cyl engine in it. Never have owned a Chevy before as I have been partial to Fords. It has a radiator leak I plan to replace for a 180 bucks and the brakes don't seem to have the stopping power I like and seem a bit sluggish but they work ok and the A/C isn't working at all. I only gave 600 for it as it was a repo I got through my bank. It seems to be one heck of a runner though which is surprising since it has 201,000 miles on it. I figure much of them must have been easy highway miles though because the vehicle is just in too good of shape and runs to smooth to have been abused much. So tell me having gone over to the dark side and having purchased a Chevy how much trouble am I in? In all honesty it seems to be a very reliable vehicle and I am much pleased with the purchase.

you will be surprised how long these trucks will last as long as everything is maintained. the 4.3L don't have very many problems so once you fix that little stuff you should be in good shape. and welcome to the forum

Well I'm from the other end of the table my parents always bought fords but I've always been a chevy fan but I have spent a fraction of the price my friend did on his 2000 ford explorer and my brothers 2005 Jeep Liberty. I would say over all they are pretty reliable but they do have their quarks but what car doesn't?

Welcome from New Zealand. Yea, they're good trucks. We've just got issues getting parts. And then we can't mod these things like you guys - Unless you've got a very healthy budget of course.
