What's up? Recently totaled a 2000 Tacoma 4x4. Got a great settlement. Decided I wanted something older. Time to go back to my roots for awhile. I was looking at F150's, Broncos and Jeeps. I need a daily driver (Tacoma was lifted with 32" KM2's and a lean code ECU dumping fuel to accomodate and i got ~14/gallon city, 16 when things were good) gas mileage doesnt scare me. Couldn't find anything I liked. Stumbled on some nice local Blazers on Craigslist. Started talking with a couple guys. One was hooked-up (nice paint but ugly color), blah blah. One guy just struck me as cool. Forthcoming with a lot of info. Went out to see yesterday before work. I wanted to like the truck. And I did. We spent some time under the truck looking stuff over. Under the hood, etc. he pointed out every single thing. he knew this truck intimately although he hasnt had it long. He wanted to keep going but hes doing a street/strip 1966 F100 project for his aging dad. I didn't close the deal, but told him I'm probably in. 5 minutes from his house, I called him and said take the ad down. It just felt right.
It's a 1977 K5. 350 from a '70 Corvette (I have casting #'s), 700r4, NP203 with part-time kit (now has lockers of course), Edelbrock intake, Comp aluminum rockers (don't know if they're shaft or stud), upgraded cam, headers, 100amp alt, burly looking starter, 4 row aluminum radiator and electric fans. Runs frighteningly cool in Phoenix!!! Body is straight. Rust is almost non-existent and is all surface rust so far!
I'm stoked. Nice hour ride home. Tranny shift smoothly, OD is nice. Tracks well for having 35's. It has a lot of character. I promised him I'd put time in and I will. All the important stuff works. Lights, gauges. Great ride quality. Rancho 6" lift, front and rear springs, no blocks. Brand new 35x12.5 Grabber AT2's. Sick hood once it gets painted lol. $3700 OBO. I walked for $2500.
